What is the difference between thermal protector and current

2020-04-30

1. Different reference

1. Thermal protector: It is a combination of two different alloys that will heat up after passing current. Due to the different thermal expansion coefficients of the two different alloys, the alloy is bound to bend in one direction, and the power is cut off when the contacts leave. The bending speed is proportional to the magnitude of the passing current. This protects the electrical equipment.

2. Current overload protector: it can provide effective protection for the overcurrent, short circuit, phase loss, phase imbalance, phase error and starting process (avoiding starting overcurrent) of electrical systems, squirrel cage motors and winding motors.

Second, the principle is different

1. Thermal protector: It is a thermostat that uses a bimetallic strip as the temperature sensing element. When the temperature drops to the set temperature, the contact automatically closes / opens, and the normal working state is restored.

2. Current overload protector: the signal is sampled by the current transformer to convert the load current of each phase into a voltage signal proportional to it, and the signal and all control signals are input to the microprocessor, and the microprocessor continuously collects various signals , Calculation and storage, and compare with the corresponding conditions, and then output the results.

Third, the role is different

1. Thermal protector: used in household appliances motors and electrical equipment, such as washing machine motors, air conditioner fan motors, transformers, ballasts, electric appliances, etc.

2. Current overload protector: widely used in the protection and monitoring of industrial three-phase motors and other electrical appliances in machinery, metallurgy, building materials, chemical industry, textile industry, etc.
